Safeguarding Effectiveness

Salford Safeguarding Children Partnership has a multi-agency Performance and Quality Assurance (PQA) subgroup who quality assure safeguarding practice and monitor performance across the partnership.

The group monitors the effectiveness of local, inter-agency safeguarding arrangements and identifies good practice and areas for improvement. They consider evidence from local audits and reviews plus national inspection reports and inquiries. The PQA subgroup reports to the Strategic Effectiveness Group (SEG) who will advise SSCP on any action required to improve safeguarding standards in Salford.

The SSCP has agreed a comprehensive set of processes which enable the partnership to be assured about the effectiveness of safeguarding in multiple ways. This includes: single agency audit, Section 11 safeguarding self assessment, multi-agency practice audit and review, practitioner forums, findings from inspection, and performance data reporting. The Salford Safeguarding Effectiveness Framework document below explains in detail how the framework operates.
