Advanced Communication Tools for Practice - Listening well and feeling heard
The focus of advanced communications skills in Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) is to enable clients to feel heard and understood so that they can be supported to make the changes they want and need to make as they become parents for the first time. These skills are based on the theory and practice of motivational interviewing which some of the delegates may already be familiar with.
- Refresh and revise current communication skills you are using in your practice.
- Explore and practice different approaches, or consolidate existing skills, via skills practice.
- Increase confidence.
- Describe and explore how communication skills are used in FNP.
- Plan ongoing learning
Duration and time
One day, 9.15am to 4.00pm
It is important to attend for the full course or learning outcomes may not be met. Please note that late arrival may result in you not being admitted to the course. Leaving early may result in not being given a certificate of attendance.
The Safeguarding Partnership is now charging agencies for staff who fail to attend if we are not informed at least five working days before the course.
This includes participants who arrive late and are not admitted by the trainers or participants who on the day inform the trainers they need to leave early. The charge for this course would be £40 which would be requested at the end of the financial year.
