Delegates are however advised to be familiar with the Greater Manchester Procedure Dealing with Persistent Non-Engagement with Services by Uncooperative Families

Course aim
The breaking down barriers learning package will explore what this means and how internal and external barriers impact on effective engagement. The delegates will have the opportunity to reflect on ways of increasing and sustaining engagement with clients they work with.

Course objectives

  • Explore the meaning of being or feeling 'marginalised'
  • Understand internal and external barriers to engagement
  • Increase ways of engaging and sustaining working relationships with service users
  • Participants will have a personal/team plan for improving development strategies

Thursday 5 December 2019, 9.30am to 1.00pm

It is important that you attend for the full course or learning outcomes may not be met. Please note that late arrival may result in you not being admitted to the course. Leaving early may result in not being given a certificate of attendance. 

Salford Safeguarding Children Board is now charging agencies for staff who fail to attend if we are not informed of cancellation at least five working days before the course. 

This includes participants who arrive late and are not admitted by the trainers or participants who on the day inform the trainers they need to leave early. The charge for this course would be £40 which would be requested after the course.
