Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Salford City Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non compliance with the accessibility regulations

The same link text is used for multiple different destinations. Users might not know the difference if they are not somehow explained. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context). We are working our way through these issues.

Colour contrast is insufficient on some of our pages. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). We are working our way through these issues.

Some input fields don’t have a description. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships, 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions and 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. We are working our way through these issues.

Element ID is not unique on two pages. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and 4.1.1 Parsing. We are working our way through these issues.

PDFs and other documents

Many of our PDFs don’t meet accessibility standards - for example, they may not be structured so they’re accessible to a screen reader, text alternatives are missing.

Some of our PDFs are essential to providing our services. For example, some of our resources are PDFs. We intend to have a rolling programme to update our PDFs.

We will work to ensure key new documents meet accessibility standards.

Disproportionate burden

We have not identified anything that qualifies as disproportionate burden as of yet.
